The State of Senior Care in California

I WAS SHOCKED TO LEARN THAT MOST ASSISTED LIVING CARE CENTERS ARE PRIVATE PAY ONLY.

The lowest price I have found for assisted living with no nurse is 2350.00 per month, if I had to pay that amount of rent I would hope it was a very nice big house to live in and that I owned it

My question is how is it legal for these places to charge this much? How is it legal for them to drain the ederly people out of their life savings and then kick them out the second they have no money left?

I would like to see some MEDIA attention to this matter and to start in the Sacramento Area, also what happens to the people that have medi-cal,medicare and have no savings?

We need to start speaking out about these companies that are draining the elderly out of their savings. I do not think anyone should have to pay 2350.00 or more to live with a piece of mind.

California State Fair..pros and cons

Ok folks,

The News stated that the people at the state fair says attendance was down a lot and would try to move the fair up to June or July next year..

Well Let me give you a list on why the attendance is LOW THIS YEAR::::

1) 10.00 for parking in Eygpt.....

2) 12.00 fair entry for an adult

3) 8.00 for a child

4) tickets cost 4 for 1.00 or you can get 25 tickets for 25.00 OR you can get a all day wrist band for 30.00 and on weekends it costs 35.00.

5) People with a handicap will not find the fair to friendly, nor the people who are working the fair.

6) you have fair employees ripping children off... here is the proof:: my son had 20.00 and he bought two sodas at 3.00 a piece and a corn dog that was 3.50 umm that is 9.50 and the guy gave him back 9.00 and my son said you owe me more money and the guy had the nerve to put his finger up and shake it and say no no no.. well my son got his money back and within 10 mins I saw the same man behind a tent with a handful of money...now this is the tent not far from the snack bar he is working at strange dont you think?? Oh I went up to ask to see the person who is running that stand since I wanted my money back, I was going to go get a police officer however I went there to the fair so my son could have some fun, not have fair employees rip him off. Once again he did get his 1.50 returned to him..

here is his picture:

The Bella Twins were very nice, wish I could say the same for the employees(Direct TV) who could not have cared less that I could not walk the stairs to get to the form to spin his wheel for a prize...He was like oh well then I guess you won't be spinning then... I was like you know you do not have to be such an ASSHOLE and I will be calling to let them know how you have treated me..

Ok now for the GOOD THINGS ABOUT GOING TO THE FAIR::::

1) THE FOOD!!!!!!

2) FAMILY TIME

3) Friends

However I still cannot see how the fair stats are saying the attendance is down since I saw families of 5 and 6 and they all had all day wrist bands on and had stuffed toys from the game tables and were eating plenty.. so I do not thing the stats are correct...

I do plan on sending a picture of this young man to the police along with a copy of this posting and also to the state fair directors office..

I know they have safe guards up for child Predators, however what about their employees who are stealing people blind???

ALL IN ALL

my son was happy he was able to see the BELLA TWINS and finally ride the bumper cars all by himself... so it is ALL OK but people have to remember I am never without a camera and I do protect what is mine.....

Sacramento Kings and the State Budget....

Hmmm,

I think maybe the Sacramento Kings would start to play better if they were made to donate 5000.00 for each point that they lost with per player.

Come on they really do make a bit to much money along with every other professional sports players and I really do not see that they are giving back to our communities.

Just a thought and it would really help the Budget

like they lost 129/81 I think it was .... hmmm that is and would be a lot of money for the good state of California...

14 children...............

Ok I am all for a loving family and everything, however 14 children to a single mother?

she already had 6 children under the age of 7 and her mother says she was taking fertility drugs and to top it off she lives at home with her parent's.

I am sorry who is paying for these 14 children? the state of California? I can barely pay for my own two children and all of the house bills, so I would like to know how this mother in her 30's going to pay for her 14 children.

Why should her father (grandfather of the 14) have to go back to do contracting jobs in Iraq just to help pay for these children when they should not be a burden to the grandparents.

mid 30's and 14 children and no husband

I am sure everyone is just so excited about 8 babies and I am sure the family thinks they are going to get a lot of free things from Pampers and other companies who make baby products and that would be wonderful if the family did get the free things ,however if this mother of 14 is on welfare, we the taxpayers have every right to know and also have it explained to us on how she is still on welfare when there is a 2 year lifetime limit the last time I checked.

She does not want to be identified but they showed her home and also talked to her neighbors who are not that happy about it. Nadia I thought is what the neighbor said her name was.

Oh well, life will go on and I hope the 14 children grow up to be very successful. However the mother should be banned from having any more children.

Are you Covered?

I know this is something that we do not want to think about or even dicuss with our loved ones, however are you covered in the event that you die?

Last year I called a number that I had seen on TV and I said let me check into this since it looks to good to be true.

WELL! I am here to let you know it is all true.

I met Larry Miller, he has been selling this insurance plan since June 1966 yes 42 years... that is the same age I am .

I must say, it was a joy speaking to Larry, he not only had the policy I wanted he also had the proof of the company and he has no problem discussing your needs and what the company has to offer and the best part is that the coverage goes into effect the minute I sign and pay for it, no waiting period at all.

The policy also has a plan that will help you in the time of your need and you can request for them to make the funeral arrangements and do all of the bidding for that.
Ask Larry about it when you call for your appt.

I plan on telling everyone I know about this Policy and that it is really good for them to get it now, they have a plan for you, just call and ask.

to email LArry Miller so you can set up an APPT please click here

Please note: I am not paid for writing this in anyway, This is my personal views and thoughts about my meeting with Larry Miller and I want to share it with everyone!

Please email him in the event you would like to discuss your whole life insurance policy needs.

Please do not SPAM his email address in anyway.

Did They really let the students do this?

I guess they already finished their English homework!!!

Montebello High School in California

You will not see this heart-stopping photo on the front page of the NY Times, nor on the lead story of the major news networks.
The protestors at Montebello High School took the American flag off the school flag pole and hung it upside down while putting up the Mexican flag over it. (*See pictures below*)

I predict this stunt will be the nail in the coffin of any guest-worker/amnesty plan on the table in Washington .. The image of the American flag subsumed to another and turned upside down on American soil is already spreading on Internet forums and via e-mail.

Pass this along to every American citizen in your address books and to every representative in the state and federal government.. If you choose to remain uninvolved, do not be amazed when you no longer have a nation to call your ow! n nor a nything you have worked for left since it will be 'redistributed' to the activists while you are so peacefully staying out of the 'fray'. Check history, it is full of nations/empires that disappeared when its citizens no longer held their core beliefs and values. One person CAN make a difference.
One plus one plus one plus one plus one plus one........

The battle for our secure borders and immigration laws that actually mean something, however, hasn't even begun.

If this ticks YOU off...PASS IT ON!
IF IT DOESN'T IT SHOULD!

California Meals and Breaks Regulations and Laws

California Labor Laws - Mandatory Lunch and Meal Breaks

California law provides that employees must receive a 30 minute meal break if they work in excess of five hours. During this time, the employee must be relieved of all duties because it cannot be a working lunch. If an employer fails to give a proper meal break, the employee can recover one hour of pay at their regular rate of pay for each day they are not provided a proper meal break.

There are exceptions to the rules regarding meal breaks. A bona fide "exempt" employee is not subject to this rule. If the work day is less than six hours, the employee can agree to waive the time period. In the health care industry, an employee can agree, in writing, to waive this meal period. Further, employees working under a collective bargaining agreement may not be subject to the rules regarding meal periods.

In some cases, an "on duty" meal break can be provided only when the nature of the job prevents the employee from being relieved of duty and if there is a written agreement between the employer and employee. The written agreement shall state that the employee may revoke the agreement at any time.

These rules only apply to employees in California. Federal law does not have a meal time requirement.

California Labor Laws - Mandatory Rest Breaks

California labor law requires that employees get rest breaks if they work over three and a half hours a day. These mandatory breaks must be in the middle of each work period and must be 10 minutes for every four hours worked or fraction thereof. Rest breaks are work time and the employee must be paid for them.

If an employer fails to provide an employee a rest period, the employee can recover one hour of pay for each work day that the rest period is not provided.

An exception to the rule is made for bona fide "exempt" employees. They are not subject to this rule.
